Evolve Design Group (www.evolvetoday.com) is currently seeking a passionate developer with a solid understanding of the Open Source Platform – WordPress. The successful applicant must have at least 2 years commercial experience on WordPress 2-3+, an understanding of plugin development and be an enthusiastic follower of current and emerging web technologies focused around WordPress.
A strong understanding of PHP, JS, HTML, CSS and database technology is essential, as is a flair for providing solid programming with feature-rich interfaces focused on customer usability.
Job Responsibility
The selected applicant will be responsible for:
1. Consulting on website features at the wire stage
2. Developing WP theme from ground up
3. Implementing necessary plug-ins as well as building new plug-ins
4. Setting up testing/beta area
5. Performing QA & Debugging
6. Pushing site live
Required Skills
1. PHP/MySQL (4+ Years)
2. Javascript (4+ Years)
3. XHTML/CSS (5+ Years)
4. Experience writing code to 508 standards
5. WordPress 2/3 Platform (2+ Years)
6. Experience with the WordPress AP
7. Developing Themes & Plugins
8. Knowledge of mod_rewrite in Apache
9. Http fundamentals (request, response headers)
Additional, but not required skills
1. HTML5 Features
2. CSS3.0
3. Experience building WAP (Wireless Application Protocol) websites
Candidate will be required to do all programming in-house during normal business hours. Computer and working station will be provided. Candidate will be responsible for having daily transportation to and from the office. Any consulting services needed do not have to be in-house.
